Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) has teamed up with Cavite Tourism and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) CALABARZON to launch the Cavite Tourism Passport, a new initiative aimed at promoting tourism within the province of Cavite.

The launch event, led by Cavite Provincial Tourism Officer Rozelle Sangalang and DILG R-4A Regional Director Ariel Iglesias, introduced the South Summer Tour 2024 program. This innovative program is designed to showcase the diverse tourist destinations across Cavite’s eight cities and 15 municipalities.

According to Iglesias, the “Biyaheng South Tourism Passport” is set to revolutionize local tourism by encouraging travelers to explore Cavite’s landscapes and support local businesses. The program aims to provide meaningful experiences for travelers, tourists, and local communities.

The Cavite Tourism Passport allows visitors to collect stamps from various locations, including Cavitex and Calax Toll Plazas, the Provincial Tourism Office, restaurants, hotels, historical sites, and adventure spots. For every 10 stamps collected, visitors will receive a reward that can be redeemed at partner establishments, tourism offices in Cavite, and the CALAX Customer Service Center.

The program aims to boost tourism by highlighting popular attractions such as the Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Bacoor’s famous halo-halo, Cavite City’s Bibingkoy, Rosario’s Tinapang Salinas, General Trias’ Carabao milk, Imus City’s Longganisa, Pico de Loro in Ternate, the Bonifacio Trial House in Maragondon, and Amadeo’s coffee, among others. Additionally, leisure activities and food hubs in Tagaytay are also included in the passport program.

The launch event was attended by key figures such as Amadeo Mayor Redel Dionisio, MPT South Manager Jona Miranda, and tourism officers from various parts of Cavite, signaling a strong commitment to promoting and enhancing tourism in the region.
