CBS has announced the cancellation of two of its popular dramas, “So Help Me Todd” and “CSI: Vegas,” much to the disappointment of fans. Both shows were set to air their season finales in May, but now these episodes will serve as the final goodbye to the beloved series.
“So Help Me Todd” was in its second season, while “CSI: Vegas” was in its third season, both boasting solid viewership numbers averaging 7.7 million and 7.6 million viewers, respectively. The decision to cancel the shows came as a surprise to many fans who were invested in the storylines and characters.
CBS cited scheduling constraints as the primary reason for axing the shows, leaving little room for their return next season. However, the network is gearing up to introduce new content to fill the void left by the cancellations. Upcoming releases include the reboot of “Matlock” featuring Kathy Bates and the comedic venture “Poppa’s House” starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr.
Despite their cancellations, the legacy of “So Help Me Todd” and “CSI: Vegas” will linger as fans bid farewell to beloved characters and storylines. The shows originally debuted in 2022, with “So Help Me Todd” featuring Marcia Gay Harden as a defense attorney and Skylar Astin as her son and investigator, while “CSI: Vegas” revived the iconic franchise with a talented cast led by Paula Newsome and Matt Lauria.
As fans come to terms with the end of these shows, CBS is already looking ahead to new series like “Watson,” “NCIS: Origins,” and a “Young Sheldon” spinoff to keep viewers entertained.
