Celebrating Eid al-Fitr: A Look at Muslim Traditions

Muslims around the world celebrated the Eid al-Fitr holiday with mixed emotions as the crisis in Gaza and Israel’s expected military offensive in Rafah city cast a shadow over the festivities. In Kenya, Imam Abdulrahman Musa urged people to remember the plight of Palestinians facing unjustified aggression and violence. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed solidarity with Gaza, calling it a “bleeding wound on the conscience of humanity.”

As Muslims worldwide came together to celebrate Eid, the message of solidarity and compassion resonated across borders, transcending religious and cultural differences.
