Central Mountain Softball Dominates Selinsgrove with 19-9 Victory

In a thrilling Heartland Conference matchup, the Central Mountain Wildcats showcased their senior-led team experience as they defeated the Selinsgrove Seals 19-9 on Tuesday afternoon. The Wildcats, coming off a tough loss the day before, knew they needed a strong performance to bounce back, and they delivered.

The game started off strong for Central Mountain, with the Wildcats tallying nine runs in the first inning alone. Led by standout performances from senior Madisyn Wian and junior Cora Myers, the Wildcats continued to dominate at the plate throughout the game. Wian, who also excelled on the mound, pitched three innings of relief work to secure the win for her team.

Despite a late-game surge from Selinsgrove, Central Mountain remained composed and focused, ultimately closing out the game in six innings. The Wildcats’ hitting prowess was on full display, with multiple players contributing to the scoreboard and showcasing their offensive capabilities.

After the game, coach Fred Caldwell praised his team’s performance, highlighting their strong hitting as a key factor in their success. The Wildcats’ ability to stay focused and maintain a positive attitude throughout the game was evident, as they never wavered in their determination to secure the win.

With this victory, Central Mountain improves to 3-1 on the season and remains undefeated in conference play. The Wildcats will look to carry this momentum into their next game against Williamsport on Thursday afternoon, as they continue their quest for a successful season.
