Central Mountain secures victory over State College in late-game surge | News, Sports, Jobs

Central Mountain Wildcats dominated the State College Little Lions in an 11-3 victory on Monday, showcasing their offensive prowess and solid pitching performance.

Junior Gage Laughner took the mound for the Wildcats, but struggled early on, giving up three runs in just three innings. However, the Wildcats’ bats came alive in the bottom of the second, scoring four runs to take the lead. The momentum continued as they added five more runs off of State College’s Senior Sebastian Rhoads before chasing him out of the game.

Pitcher Brady Myers stepped up for Central Mountain, pitching 4.1 shutout innings and even contributing an RBI double in the sixth inning. The Wildcats’ offense was firing on all cylinders, with multiple players notching RBIs in the victory.

The game took a contentious turn in the fourth inning when State College coach Dave Williams was ejected for disputing a mismanaged count by the home plate umpire. Despite the drama, Central Mountain maintained their focus and continued to extend their lead.

After the game, Central Mountain head coach Mike Kramer praised his players for their performance, highlighting the contributions of all three pitchers and the lineup. He emphasized the team’s improvement at the plate and on the mound.

With the win, Central Mountain improved to 5-1 on the season and will face Loyalsock on Wednesday. The Wildcats’ strong showing against State College sets the stage for an exciting matchup in their upcoming games.
