Zaileen Janmohamed, the president and CEO of the Bay Area Host Committee, is a powerhouse in the world of sports management. Leading the organization through three major sporting events over the next two years, Janmohamed faces the constant challenge of balancing work and home life. Despite the demanding schedule that comes with preparing for the 2025 NBA All-Star Game, the 2026 Super Bowl, and select games from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, she never hesitates to mentor others, especially women of color who are underrepresented in the industry.
Born and raised in Canada to parents originally from India, Janmohamed discovered her love for sports at a young age, defying cultural expectations along the way. Despite facing skepticism from her community, she pursued a career in sports, eventually becoming a sports CEO. Her journey has not only paved the way for more people of color in the industry but has also inspired young women to pursue their dreams in sports management.
During AAPI Heritage Month, Janmohamed emphasizes the importance of visibility and representation for young women in sports. She believes in being authentic and proud of one’s diverse perspective, setting an example for her two young sons. By mentoring the next generation of women in sports, Janmohamed hopes to create a more inclusive and diverse industry where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
