The Grand Canyon Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau recently hosted a meeting with local businesses and the Grand Canyon Rotary Club to discuss their collaborative efforts to promote tourism in the region. The theme of the meeting was “All Roads Lead to the Grand Canyon,” highlighting the importance of working together to attract visitors to not just the Grand Canyon, but also surrounding areas like Kingman, Flagstaff, Williams, Page, and Sedona.
During the presentation, Chamber Past President Stoney Ward and incoming President James Trautman shared their strategies, which were inspired by their attendance at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism in Phoenix. They emphasized the need for businesses to come together and support each other in order to strengthen the entire community.
One of the key initiatives highlighted during the meeting was the interactive Digital Visitors Guide on the Chamber’s website, which provides comprehensive information about the area, including hiking trails, maps, videos, and links to helpful resources for planning a vacation in Northern Arizona.
Newly elected Vice President Miranda Baldosky expressed her optimism for the future of Northern Arizona cities and emphasized the importance of creating a network of businesses that are willing to collaborate and uplift each other.
Overall, the event was well-received by attendees, with Greg Espinoza, group sales manager of Squire Resorts at the Grand Canyon, praising the Chamber’s efforts to use technology to benefit not just Tusayan, but all neighboring cities. The sentiment of unity and cooperation among businesses was echoed throughout the meeting, signaling a promising future for tourism in the region.
