Champaign Central baseball dominates in doubleheader on Monday | Sports highlights

In a thrilling day of baseball action, several teams showcased their skills and came out on top in various conference matchups.

The Armstrong-Potomac Trojans dominated the Watseka Warriors with a final score of 9-2. Kollin Asbury and Colton Murphy led the Trojans with two hits each, while Asbury also drove in two runs. The Trojans’ strong pitching performance, with Asbury, Bowen Hesterberg, and Ryan Edwards combining for 12 strikeouts, shut down the Warriors’ offense. Brayden Ketchum managed to hit a double and drive in a run for Watseka.

In another game, the Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin Blue Devils defeated the Georgetown-Ridge Farm Buffaloes 17-0. Chaz Dubois and Jordan Johnson led the Blue Devils with multiple hits each, while Hunter Meeker contributed with a hit as well. Anderson Thomas pitched a gem for BHRA, securing the win on the mound.

The Champaign Central Maroons had a dominant performance against Peoria, winning both games of a doubleheader with scores of 32-0 and 20-0. Luke McClure, Charlie Hobbs, Aiden Elliott, Oliver Brandow, and T.J. Pipkins were standout performers for the Maroons, each collecting multiple hits in the games.
