Southwest Side native Bill Truesdale, a fitness advocate and champion athlete, is currently in the running to be named Mr. Health & Fitness in a national contest. The contest, which includes a $20,000 award and a feature in Muscle & Fitness magazine, aims to raise funds for the Andrew McDonough Be Positive (B+) Foundation. This non-profit organization provides financial assistance to families of children fighting cancer and funds scientific research to treat, cure, and prevent cancer in children.

Truesdale, who grew up in the Scottsdale neighborhood and attended Bogan High School, has dedicated his life to fitness and helping others live healthier lives. Despite facing tragedy at a young age when his father passed away, Truesdale found solace in sports and weightlifting. Now at the age of 61, Truesdale continues to inspire others through his physical conditioning class at West Lawn Park, where he helps individuals improve their overall well-being.
