Baker Donelson, a prominent law firm in New Orleans, has recently welcomed three new associates to its team, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the firm.

Melissa Ramsey Carter, a member of the Advocacy Department, has joined the firm to represent clients in state and federal courts in commercial and insurance defense litigation. With a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi and a law degree from Tulane University Law School, Carter is well-equipped to handle complex legal matters.

Peyton Lacoste, a member of the Tax Group, will focus on estate, tax, and business succession planning. Lacoste’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Monroe, a law degree from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, and a master of laws in taxation from Boston University School of Law. Lacoste’s experience playing college baseball at various universities adds a unique perspective to his legal practice.

Francie Trimble, a member of the Labor & Employment Group, will specialize in education law. With a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kansas and a law degree from Tulane University Law School, Trimble brings a strong academic background to her work. Trimble’s experience with Teach for America further enhances her understanding of education law.

In other news, Amanda Coates has been appointed as the chief commercial officer for the Port of New Orleans, bringing her extensive experience in business development to the role. Additionally, Sally Perry, the executive director of the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts Foundation, has announced her retirement after more than 25 years of service. The organization has begun a search for Perry’s successor to continue the foundation’s impactful work in the community.
