Charles Leclerc secured pole position at the Monaco Grand Prix, beating out Oscar Piastri in a thrilling qualifying session. Despite facing immense pressure at his home race, Leclerc delivered a stunning lap to claim the top spot on the grid with a time of 1:10.270.

Piastri continued his impressive form by securing second place on the grid, setting up a Ferrari-McLaren front row. Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris will start from the second row after strong performances in qualifying.

World championship leader Max Verstappen had a challenging session, struggling with the handling of his Red Bull car and ultimately qualifying in sixth place. Verstappen’s hopes of securing a record ninth successive pole position were dashed after hitting a wall on his final flying lap.

The Monaco track proved to be unforgiving for Red Bull, as Sergio Perez suffered a surprise exit in Q1, leaving him starting from 18th on the grid. Despite the setbacks, Leclerc remains focused on securing his first win at his home race, aiming to break the ‘curse’ that has plagued him in previous attempts.

With Leclerc on pole, the stage is set for an exciting race on Sunday, with the Ferrari driver looking to convert his qualifying success into a victory. The Monaco Grand Prix promises to be a thrilling event, with Leclerc’s pole position adding to the anticipation of what is sure to be a fiercely contested race.
