Charlie Puth, the talented singer-songwriter, has finally broken his silence after being subtly mentioned by Taylor Swift in her latest album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’ Swift’s nod to Puth has inspired him to release a new single titled ‘Hero,’ set to debut on May 24, ahead of his upcoming album.
In her album, Swift included a line in the title track declaring, “We declared Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist,” which caught Puth’s attention and prompted him to acknowledge the gesture by releasing new music. Puth took to Instagram to share a snippet of the upcoming single ‘Hero’ and express his gratitude to his supporters, referencing Swift’s mention as a motivating factor.
This isn’t the first time Puth and Swift have crossed paths musically. Puth previously covered Swift’s hit ‘Teardrops on My Guitar’ and praised her talent for reinventing classic chord progressions. Despite rumors of collaboration, Puth clarified in a 2022 interview that they hadn’t worked together but expressed openness to the idea.
Swift’s admiration for Puth is shared by other musicians as well, with Matty Healy of ‘the 1975’ also expressing appreciation for Puth’s talent on Twitter. Puth’s upcoming release follows his successful 2022 album ‘Charlie,’ which peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 chart. With hits like ‘Light Switch’ and collaborations such as ‘Left and Right’ with Jungkook of BTS, Puth’s new single ‘Hero’ is highly anticipated by fans and music enthusiasts alike.
