Charlton College of Business Welcomes New Dean for 2024

UMass Dartmouth has announced the appointment of Madan Annavarjula as the new Dean of the Charlton College of Business, effective September 1. Annavarjula, who previously served as the Dean of the College of Business and Professor of International Business at Bryant University, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role.

During his time at Bryant University, Annavarjula was instrumental in launching several successful undergraduate and graduate programs, including Data Science, Business Analytics, Digital Marketing, Leadership and Innovation, and Project Management. Under his leadership, the International Business major at Bryant University was ranked #17 in the U.S. and recognized as one of the top programs in the country by U.S. News and World Report.

UMass Dartmouth Provost Ramprasad Balasubramanian expressed his confidence in Annavarjula’s ability to lead the Charlton College of Business to new heights. Balasubramanian highlighted Annavarjula’s passion for fostering entrepreneurship, integrating emerging technologies into the curriculum, expanding global partnerships, and building cutting-edge interdisciplinary programs.

Annavarjula, who has received numerous awards for his teaching and service in the field of International Business education, expressed his excitement about the opportunity to lead the Charlton College of Business. He emphasized the potential for interdisciplinary programs, cutting-edge research, and innovative curriculum at UMass Dartmouth to benefit students and the community.
