HAX, a renowned hardware accelerator, is gearing up for its first demo day in four years at its newly established Newark office. The 35,000 square feet flagship space is a reflection of its Shenzhen offices, albeit with more room and on-site equipment for startups.

The office, funded in part by $25 million from the state of New Jersey, boasts metal fab, 3D printing, CNC machines, and a chemistry lab for deep tech projects. This setup is crucial as startups in Newark cannot easily access the massive Shenzhen markets for parts or machining.

The demo day will feature over 30 companies across various sectors like climate, manufacturing, computing, health, and energy. Notable participants include CocoonCarbon, which turns steel runoff into sustainable cement, and PureLi, which accelerates lithium extraction in brine lakes.

Renovate Robotics, known for its winch-based robot for roofing, and Silana, working on automating the sewing process, will also showcase their innovations. Additionally, Swap Robotics, specializing in landscaping solar farms, will present its robotic system.

HAX’s Demo Day, scheduled for May 1 at 2 p.m. ET, will provide a platform for these innovative startups to demonstrate their groundbreaking technologies. With a diverse range of companies participating, the event promises to showcase the cutting-edge solutions being developed in the hardware and tech industry.
