At least two workers were tragically killed and three others were injured in a workplace shooting at a family-owned linen business in Chester, Pennsylvania on Wednesday. The incident, described as an “absolute tragedy” by Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer, occurred when a disgruntled employee opened fire on five of their coworkers at the Delaware County Linen shop.

The shooting took place both inside and outside the business, with a handgun being used in the attack. Police were called to the scene around 8:30 a.m. and quickly apprehended the suspected shooter, who was identified as an employee of the company. The shooter’s vehicle was stopped by police from nearby Trainer, Pennsylvania, after a description was released.

Chester Police Commissioner Steven Gretsky expressed sadness over the situation, emphasizing the need for prayers for the three injured individuals who were taken to the hospital. Stollsteimer mentioned that while the shooter had previous issues with colleagues, there were no apparent warning signs leading up to the attack.

The community is reeling from the tragedy, with Stollsteimer acknowledging the impact on the entire area. Police presence remains heavy in the vicinity as authorities continue to investigate the incident. The shooting serves as a grim reminder of the all-too-common occurrences of workplace violence in the United States.
