The HERImpact: Entrepreneurship for Impact Program kicked off in Chicago with a bang, as 40 women entrepreneurs of color gathered at M Hub Chicago for a dynamic kickoff event. Organized by 1863 Ventures and Ford Philanthropy, this six-month virtual accelerator aims to equip participants with the skills and tools needed to grow and scale their businesses.

The program offers a comprehensive curriculum, including monthly online workshops, coaching sessions, and masterclasses led by industry experts. Each entrepreneur will also receive a $2,000 grant upon completion of the program.

The kickoff event featured workshops on entrepreneurial mindset, customer understanding, scalable growth processes, and financial management. Esteemed speakers such as Jennifer Lyle from Ford Philanthropy and Melissa Bradley from 1863 Ventures shared their insights with the participants.

A panel discussion on the state of entrepreneurship in Chicago, moderated by Jennifer Lyle, highlighted the challenges and opportunities for women founders of color. The day concluded with a networking reception, allowing participants to connect with local leaders and fellow entrepreneurs.

The program aims to provide technical assistance, foster peer-to-peer networking, stimulate economic growth in Chicago, and explore the intersection of entrepreneurship and community impact. With key partners like World Business Chicago and the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, HERImpact is set to make a significant impact on the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the city.
