Chiefs Wide Receiver Rashee Rice Takes Responsibility for Weekend Wreck

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice is taking full responsibility for his part in a weekend wreck involving speeding sports cars that caused a chain-reaction crash on a Dallas highway. The incident resulted in minor injuries to four people.

Rice was leasing a Lamborghini SUV that was speeding along with a Corvette on North Central Expressway on Saturday. The crash involved six vehicles, and the occupants of the Lamborghini and Corvette left the scene without providing information or determining whether anyone needed medical attention.

In a post on his Instagram Story, Rice stated, “Today I met with Dallas PD investigators regarding Saturday’s accident. I take full responsibility for my part in this matter and will continue to cooperate with the necessary authorities. I sincerely apologize to everyone impacted in Saturday’s accident.”

The NFL player’s attorney, state Sen. Royce West, said Rice is cooperating with authorities and will take all necessary steps to address the situation responsibly. The Chiefs have acknowledged the crash but declined further comment.

Rice, who was born in Philadelphia and raised in North Richland Hills, Texas, played college football at SMU before being drafted by the Chiefs in the second round last year. He had an impressive season, finishing second on the team in receptions and leading the Chiefs in touchdown receptions.

Despite the incident, Rice remains a key player for the Chiefs and played a significant role in their recent Super Bowl victory. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and further details have yet to be released.
