China and ASEAN Promote Science and Technology Innovation at Competition in Jakarta

The second China-ASEAN Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition (CAIEC) concluded in Jakarta, showcasing the progress made in promoting regional exchange and cooperation on science and technology innovation. The event, held at the JW Marriott Hotel Jakarta, featured 19 finalists from China and ASEAN countries competing in enterprise and team categories.

Participants showcased sci-tech innovations in various fields such as agriculture, manufacturing, healthcare, and environmental preservation. ASEAN Sectoral Development Director Kanchana Wanichkorn and Director-General of China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Center (CATTC) Li Guozhong commended the efforts to enhance connectivity and mutual understanding between the two regions.

Li emphasized the importance of tech innovation as a driving force for global economic and social development, referencing President Xi Jinping’s proposal for increased science and technology collaboration between China and ASEAN. The competition served as a platform for countries to communicate and learn from each other.

APLUX, a Chinese tech company, won the top prize in the enterprise category for its innovative AidLux operating system. The competition also highlighted startups like Capaloca from Vietnam and CHALATEX from Cambodia, focusing on financial education for children and agricultural technology solutions, respectively.

Participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to connect with potential partners in the ASEAN market and expand their technological capabilities. The event, co-organized by various government agencies and committees, underscored the importance of fostering innovation and collaboration in the science and technology sector for mutual growth and development.
