Chronister and Stern from Altoona lead the men’s tennis All-Conference Team

Penn State Altoona men’s tennis team had a stellar season with multiple players receiving recognition in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s postseason awards. Andrew Chronister of York was voted the Newcomer of the Year and co-Player of the Year, while head coach Megan Stern was chosen as the Coach of the Year.

Chronister had a historic season, setting single-season records for overall singles and doubles wins. He finished with a remarkable 15-1 record in singles matches and a 14-1 mark in doubles matches. In addition to his individual accolades, Chronister was also named co-Player of the Year alongside Jonathon Laier from Penn State Behrend.

Coach Stern, in her sixth season with the team, guided the Lions to an 11-5 overall record and a second-place finish in the conference postseason tournament. Under her leadership, the team achieved double-digit win totals in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history.

Seven other Lion players were also recognized with all-conference honors in various positions, showcasing the depth and talent of the team. Casey Hess, Nick Beard, Kadyn Carey, Wilhelm Grot, Emmett Hibbs, and Jackson Newell all received first or second-team honors for their outstanding performances throughout the season.

Overall, Penn State Altoona men’s tennis team had a successful season, with multiple players and their coach receiving well-deserved recognition for their hard work and dedication to the sport.
