Club Med in Phuket: A Haven for Love, Lifestyle, and Family Fun

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Club Med, the iconic brand known for its luxurious all-inclusive resorts, recently unveiled a refreshed Phuket resort on the edge of Kata Beach to more than 70 global media representatives. The event also offered a glimpse into the future of the brand, showcasing new upgrades and upcoming openings that are sure to excite travelers around the world.

Speaking at a morning brand immersion, Club Med president Henri Giscard d’Estaing emphasized the brand’s 70-year history as one of the world’s most desirable brands. He described Club Med as “Forever a love and lifestyle brand,” highlighting the unique experience it offers to guests.

The Phuket resort underwent a revamp operation in 2020, focusing initially on the center of the property, including the main bar and theatre. The renovations then extended to the rooms on the northern end of the 800m long property, all of which have now been completed. The updated rooms feature modern amenities such as USB-A and USB-C wall sockets, powerful air-conditioning, and a remote work desk for those who need to stay connected while on vacation.

One of the new additions to the resort is the Zen Pool, a serene sun trap with a private pool and bar exclusively for guests aged 20 and above. Additionally, a state-of-the-art sporting clubhouse offers activities such as pickleball, padel, tennis, basketball, and even a five-hole golf course for guests to enjoy.

The final stages of the renovation are currently underway, with Club Med introducing its newest room type, the ‘Family Oasis.’ Designed as a multi-generational haven, these themed rooms and family-friendly spaces combine upscale accommodation with fun for the whole family. The Family Oasis rooms can accommodate a family of five and come in two options: ground floor with a terrace and small garden, or upper floor with a balcony. The Oasis will also feature a family water play area, a snack bar, and a food truck, providing entertainment for guests of all ages.

Looking ahead, Club Med is set to reopen French resorts Vittel Ermitage in July and Serre Chevalier in December, in addition to several new openings in the coming years. CEO Rachel Harding highlighted the brand’s new mantra, ‘That’s l’Esprit Libre,’ which encourages guests to disconnect from the outside world and connect with the present moment.

Results in Harding’s region have been impressive, with a significant increase in business volume and bookings compared to previous years. New openings are planned for Forlong, China in December, as well as Gramado, Brazil, and Borneo in 2025. These additions follow recent openings in Japan and France, including the Kiroro Grand in Hokkaido and the Exclusive Collection Space La Rosière.

Exclusive Collection Spaces offer guests a private paradise with exclusive suites, private spaces, and privileged services within a Club Med resort. Future additions to the collection include resorts in Ouidah, San Sicario, Tinley Manor, and Essaoura, all of which are highly anticipated by travelers seeking a luxurious and exclusive experience.

With the unveiling of the refreshed Phuket resort and exciting new openings on the horizon, Club Med continues to solidify its position as a leading global brand in the luxury all-inclusive resort market. Travelers can look forward to unforgettable experiences and unparalleled hospitality at Club Med properties around the world.
