The Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PiCNG) has taken a significant step towards promoting sustainable energy solutions in Nigeria with the launch of the CNG Solutions Hackathon 2024. This event, scheduled for today at the Art Tech District in Abuja, aims to drive the widespread adoption of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in the country.

The hackathon will bring together a diverse group of participants, including tech enthusiasts, developers, designers, business professionals, and innovators, to collaborate and generate innovative solutions to overcome the challenges hindering the growth of CNG adoption in Nigeria. Participants will work in teams to develop functional prototypes that push the boundaries for CNG adoption, with industry experts providing guidance and support.

Each team will compete for recognition by showcasing their innovative solutions for sustainable CNG usage in Nigeria. The Programme Director/Chief Executive of PCNGI, Michael Oluwagbemi, expressed excitement for the event, emphasizing the importance of developing solutions that will accelerate the growth of CNG in the country.

CEO of Nigeria Climate Innovation Centre (NCIC), Bankole Oloruntoba, highlighted the hackathon as a testament to their commitment to driving innovation and sustainability in the energy sector. By fostering collaboration and providing a platform for creative solutions, the event aims to significantly contribute to the growth of CNG adoption in Nigeria.
