CNH Industrial Seeks to Utilize India’s Technological Expertise and Cost Benefits for Global Needs

CNH Industrial, a global agricultural and construction solutions major, is tapping into India’s tech skills and cost advantages to develop future technologies and products for global requirements. The company recently expanded its India Technology Centre (ITC) with a cutting-edge multi-vehicle simulator (MVS) and is considering moving projects from Europe and the US to India.

CNH Industrial’s Chief Technology Officer, Friedrich Eichler, emphasized India’s strategic importance, calling it the best-cost country rather than just a low-cost one. He praised the skilled and qualified engineers in India, highlighting their passion for agriculture and construction.

Eichler outlined the company’s plans to shift projects from Europe and the US to India, working closely with headquarters to define project requirements and necessary skills. He noted India’s strengths in innovation, digitalization, and methodologies, making it an ideal environment for developing hi-tech products.

CNH Industrial, which operates in India through brands like Case IH, New Holland, and CASE Construction Equipment, has already seen success in adapting and manufacturing products in India. Eichler mentioned a FIAT powertrain developed in Italy that was successfully produced in India with no compromise on quality.

Looking ahead, CNH Industrial aims to develop products in India tailored to specific regional requirements, such as cotton plantations. Eichler highlighted the need for different machines in India due to unique planting methods, signaling opportunities for robotics and small machines development.
