American IT firm Cognizant has announced a groundbreaking partnership with Microsoft Corporation to leverage generative AI technology and copilots to revolutionize employee experiences and drive cross-industry innovation. The collaboration aims to utilize Microsoft Copilot and Cognizant’s advisory and digital transformation services to help employees and enterprise customers implement generative AI and achieve strategic business transformation.

According to a company statement, this partnership is expected to contribute significantly to the projected $1 trillion that AI is set to inject into the US GDP over the next decade. Additionally, the collaboration is also anticipated to benefit India, with AI projected to add $450-500 billion to the country’s GDP by 2025, accounting for 10% of its $5 trillion GDP target.

As part of the partnership, Cognizant has acquired 25,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot seats for its associates, along with 500 Sales Copilot seats and 500 Services Copilot seats. The company plans to deploy Microsoft 365 Copilot to a million users within its 2,000 global clients.

Judson Althoff, Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer at Microsoft, expressed excitement about the expanded partnership with Cognizant, highlighting the potential for organizations to harness generative AI to transform operations, enhance employee experiences, and deliver new value for customers. By combining Cognizant’s industry expertise with Microsoft’s Copilot capabilities, including Copilot for Microsoft 365 and GitHub Copilot, the partnership aims to drive AI adoption and innovation for millions of users across their network.
