Collaboration between UMass Chan Medical School and Dubai Health Strengthens Partnerships

A delegation from UMass Chan Medical School, Massachusetts’s first and only public academic health sciences center, recently made a significant visit to Dubai Health, marking a new era of collaboration in healthcare between the two institutions. The visit, highlighted by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), paved the way for a promising partnership aimed at advancing health initiatives and research projects.

The partnership between UMass Chan and Dubai Health is rooted in a shared vision to make a positive impact on healthcare and public health. Both organizations are committed to working together to enhance patient care, facilitate educational exchanges between learners, and drive innovative advancements in the field of medicine, both locally and globally.

Led by Michael F. Collins, MD, Senior Vice President for Health Sciences and Chancellor at UMass Chan, the delegation also provided Dubai Health learners with valuable insights into elective and residency program opportunities at UMass Chan. This exchange of knowledge and expertise is expected to benefit both institutions and contribute to the growth and development of healthcare professionals.

Professor Alawi Alsheikh-Ali, Deputy CEO and Chief Academic Officer of Dubai Health, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “This partnership offers a unique opportunity to leverage the strengths of two leading academic health organizations. By combining our resources and expertise, we can push the boundaries of medical knowledge and better serve our communities. The visit was highly productive and sets the stage for a meaningful collaboration focused on advancing health for all.”
