College of Education and Human Development equips secondary school educators to teach college-level courses

The College of Education and Human Development at the University of Nevada, Reno, is making strides in advancing education with the introduction of a new online Master of Education program. The program, focusing on Secondary Education with an emphasis on Continuing Educator Improvement, is designed for licensed teachers looking to enhance their skills and knowledge to become better educators.

One key aspect of the program is its support for teachers in adapting to the changing landscape of education, including the growing trend of dual-credit courses. These courses, such as those offered through the University of Nevada, Reno’s Collegiate Academy, allow high school students to earn university credit while still in high school, making higher education more accessible and affordable.

The program, delivered in an online cohort model, aims to create a collaborative learning environment where teachers can progress together and apply course concepts to their classrooms.
