Indianapolis Colts tight end Drew Ogletree has been reinstated by the team after being removed from the Commissioner’s Exempt List. The news was revealed by Colts general manager Chris Ballard during his pre-draft press conference on Friday.
Ogletree had been on the Commissioner’s Exempt List following his arrest in December 2023 for alleged domestic violence, which resulted in a woman being hospitalized. The charges against him were later dismissed with prejudice on March 5.
The Commissioner’s Exempt List is a special designation used by the league in unique circumstances, where players cannot participate in football activities but are still paid. Only the Commissioner has the authority to place a player on this list.
Ogletree, a sixth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, missed his rookie season due to a torn ACL but returned to play in 2023. He recorded nine catches for 147 yards and two touchdowns in 12 games before his arrest.
With Ogletree back in the mix, the Colts’ tight end room now includes him along with Mo Alie-Cox, Kylen Granson, Will Mallory, Jordan Murray, Eric Tomlinson, and Jelani Woods.
The reinstatement of Ogletree adds depth to the Colts’ roster as they prepare for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft and offseason workouts.
