Vogue Codes Summit Inspires Women to Pursue Careers in Technology
In an effort to increase the number of women pursuing careers in technology, Commonwealth Bank has partnered with Vogue Australia to showcase the dynamic opportunities available in STEM fields. Jane Adams, Executive General Manager of Human Resources Technology at CommBank, emphasized the importance of inspiring the next generation of female technologists.
“Technology is central to everything we do for our customers, and we’re committed to building a skilled, future-ready workforce that includes female technologists,” Adams stated. “By partnering with Vogue Australia, we hope to encourage more women to consider a career in technology and ultimately build a brighter future for all.”
Vogue Codes, now in its ninth year, has been instrumental in encouraging women to engage with STEM subjects and pursue tech-based careers. Edwina McCann, Editorial Director of Vogue Australia, highlighted the progress that has been made in promoting gender diversity in STEM fields but acknowledged that there is still work to be done, especially in achieving equal representation in senior leadership positions.
This year’s Vogue Codes Summit, with the theme “Technotopia: Designing the World of Tomorrow,” will feature inspiring female technologists and innovators, including Sonal Surana, General Manager of AI & Advanced Analytics for Business Banking at CommBank. Surana expressed her excitement about sharing her experience in harnessing AI and data science to improve customer experiences and inspire more women to pursue STEM careers.
The flagship Vogue Codes Summit on June 22 in Sydney will showcase the endless possibilities of AI and technology innovations that are shaping the future. Additionally, CommBank will have one of its former Technology Graduates speak at Vogue Codes Con, an event for university students pursuing careers in technology, on August 29. Through initiatives like Vogue Codes, more women are being encouraged to study STEM subjects and explore the tech-based careers of the future.
