Conference Hosted by AHLA Foundation Aims to Empower Women in Hospitality Industry

The AHLA Foundation brought together nearly 1,000 attendees from the hotel industry for the annual ForWard conference at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. Industry leaders gathered over three days to celebrate, champion, and create community for women in hospitality.

The conference theme, “Right the Narrative,” focused on the power of storytelling and amplifying the stories and voices of women in the hotel industry. Keynote speakers included Shola Richards, Zainab Johnson, and Liz Plank, who shared their insights and experiences with the attendees.

Breakout sessions covered topics like the “unhustle” mindset and habits of transformational leaders, while the main stage discussions delved into global trends in the hotel industry and the power of advocacy. The event also featured next-gen leaders, industry disruptors, and leading experts.

AHLA Foundation president Anna Blue emphasized the importance of advancing women in the industry, stating, “When women in our industry advance, the industry as a whole benefits.” The Foundation also announced the launch of its “Move Hospitality ForWard” campaign during the conference, which aims to support the amplification and advancement of women in the hotel industry through curated programs and events like the ForWard conference.
