Indian-American Congressman Shri Thanedar has raised concerns over the increasing attacks against Hindus and Hinduism in the United States, warning that this could be the beginning of a coordinated anti-Hindu assault.
Speaking at a news conference at the National Press Club, Thanedar highlighted the surge in misinformation targeting Hinduism, both online and offline. He, along with four other Indian American lawmakers, recently wrote to the Department of Justice urging an investigation into the rising attacks on Hindu temples and places of worship.
Expressing disappointment over the lack of action taken against the perpetrators of these attacks, Thanedar emphasized the need for the community to stand together in the face of adversity. He stressed that Hinduism is a peaceful religion that does not promote violence against others.
The Congressman called for better coordination between local law enforcement, the FBI, and the Department of Justice to address hate crimes against the Hindu community. He introduced a resolution in Congress to address anti-Hindu attacks and continues to pressure the administration to ensure the safety and security of Hindus in the US.
Utsav Chakrabarti from HinduAction hailed the resolution as a historic step in combating anti-Hindu crimes in the country. The community is urged to demand equality and justice in the face of these attacks, with a united front against hate towards Hinduism.
