Conor McGregor in talks with UFC for new contract, aiming for 3 fights in 2024

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Conor McGregor, the former two-division champion, is in talks with the UFC for a new contract ahead of his return to action at UFC 303 on June 29. McGregor, who has been sidelined since 2021 due to a broken leg, is eager to stay busy and has set his sights on fighting three times in 2024.

During a recent live chat, McGregor revealed his plans for the year, which include fights in June, September, and December. He expressed his desire to fight on the UFC 306 card in September, which is set to take place at the Sphere venue in Las Vegas. McGregor had hoped to face Nate Diaz in a trilogy fight on that card, but UFC President Dana White quickly dismissed the idea, citing Diaz’s current contract status.

Despite the setback, McGregor remains determined to fight on the September card and potentially book one more matchup before the end of the year. As the biggest draw in the history of the sport, McGregor is confident that he will have no shortage of opponents willing to face him.

For now, McGregor’s focus is on his upcoming fight against Michael Chandler in June. Once he gets through that, he can start planning for his future and continue to solidify his legacy in the sport of mixed martial arts. Stay tuned for more updates on McGregor’s contract negotiations and upcoming fights.
