Conor McGregor ridicules Leon Edwards vs. Belal Muhammad fight, calling it ‘not even worthy of pay-per-view’

Conor McGregor is setting his sights on adding more hardware to his UFC title collection, with welterweight gold potentially next on his list. The former two-division champ is gearing up to face Michael Chandler at 170 pounds at UFC 303, but he’s already eyeing his next move.

During a recent Duelbits live chat, McGregor discussed his interest in reclaiming the lightweight title he once held or pursuing something different, hinting at a possible welterweight title shot. McGregor took aim at current welterweight champion Leon Edwards, pointing out vulnerabilities in his recent fights against Nate Diaz and Donald Cerrone.

While McGregor has a 2-1 record in the welterweight division, he has yet to face a lifelong welterweight. Despite this, McGregor believes the welterweight division is ripe for the picking, especially with the upcoming title fight between Edwards and Belal Muhammad in July.

McGregor’s ultimate goal is to add new accolades to his résumé, whether it’s welterweight gold, a rematch with Max Holloway for the “BMF” title, or another shot at the lightweight title. McGregor is confident that a UFC title shot is in his near future, and he even suggested the creation of a “McGregor belt” or a money belt by the UFC to show appreciation for his impact on the sport.

As McGregor continues to make waves in the UFC, fans can expect to see him chase after more titles and make history in the octagon. Stay tuned for his next move as he looks to solidify his legacy in the sport.
