Conscious Questions: A New Resource for Tourism Businesses Launched by The Conscious Travel Foundation, Weeva, and BOUTECO

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Conscious Travel Foundation, Weeva, and BOUTECO have joined forces to launch a groundbreaking resource for tourism businesses called “Conscious Questions.” This open-sourced list of questions is designed to help professionals in the travel industry delve deeper into the realm of sustainability by asking and preparing to answer crucial questions.

The guide is divided into seven impact categories, including Environment, Economy, Conservation, Culture & Heritage, Community, Accessibility & Inclusion, and Measurement & Data. By posing a series of thought-provoking questions and providing the rationale behind them, the guide aims to support travel agents and representatives in understanding holistic sustainability better, leading to more responsible trips.

Maudie Tomlinson, Director of The Conscious Travel Foundation, emphasized the importance of these key areas of measurable impact in line with the foundation’s holistic approach to positive impact tourism. Accommodation providers, in particular, will benefit from the insights provided in the guide, especially with new directives like the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) coming into play.

Hotel owners, General Managers, and marketing teams are encouraged to align their value chain with their values by measuring their environmental and social impact, making operational improvements, and capturing data meticulously. This proactive approach will enable them to have the answers ready when faced with tough questions about sustainability.

In a time where sustainability is paramount, the Conscious Questions guide serves as a valuable tool for the travel industry to navigate the complexities of responsible tourism and make a positive impact on the environment and society.
