Cosmico, a new North Coast music festival, is set to launch next weekend, May 17-19, 2024, along the Russian River in Northern Sonoma County. The festival promises a unique blend of American roots, psychedelia, jazz, and rock music, reflecting the fiercely independent spirit of the region.
The brainchild of Chris Schultz and his wife Anne Driscol, Cosmico originated from an underground music venue in their backyard, where renowned artists in the American roots music scene performed under the redwoods by the creek. Inspired by the community’s love for music and nature, Schultz and Driscol decided to expand their vision into an official music festival.
The festival’s headlining performance will be by Susto, a band known for infusing rock, punk, folk, and psychedelia in their music. Other notable acts include Sam Grisman and Friends, paying homage to the 1960s music scene, and a unique collaboration featuring musicians from various genres.
Cosmico aims to celebrate nature’s bounty and the cultural motifs of the North Coast, embodying themes of freedom, DIY spirit, and connection to the natural world. The festival will take place at Dawn Ranch, a 22-acre retreat on the banks of the Russian River, surrounded by towering redwoods.
Tickets for Cosmico are still available, offering single-day, weekend, and lodging packages. The festival organizers, Schultz and Driscol, have poured their passion into creating a sustainable and unforgettable musical experience for the North Coast community. Don’t miss out on this one-of-a-kind event that promises to be a celebration of music, nature, and independence.
