Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Arizona Coyotes bid farewell to their 28-year tenure in the state with a thrilling 5-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night. The game was filled with emotion as fans packed the arena for one last time to support their beloved team.

The Coyotes got off to a strong start with Liam O’Brien scoring a goal less than three minutes into the game. The team continued to build on their lead with goals from Matias Maccelli, Lawson Crouse, Dylan Guenther, and an empty-net goal from Sean Durzi. Goalie Connor Ingram made 25 saves to secure the win for Arizona.

Despite the loss, the Oilers put up a fight with goals from Sam Carrick and Warren Foegele. Goalie Calvin Pickard made 16 saves in the losing effort.

The game marked the end of an era for the Coyotes as the team prepares to relocate to Salt Lake City under new ownership. The fans showed their support for the team throughout the game, creating a lively atmosphere that added to the excitement on the ice.

The Coyotes franchise may have a chance at revival in the future, as the current owner will have the rights to an expansion team if a new arena is built within five years. For now, the team and its fans can celebrate a memorable final game in Arizona before embarking on a new chapter in Salt Lake City.
