Yuzvendra Chahal made history in the Indian Premier League by reaching the milestone of 200 wickets. The momentous occasion occurred during the IPL 2024 match between RR and MI, where Chahal dismissed Mohammad Nabi to achieve this feat. He is the first bowler in the league’s history to accomplish this remarkable milestone.

Despite not being a part of the Indian team and lacking a central contract, Chahal has continued to excel in white-ball cricket. The cricket community took to social media to praise the legendary bowler for his outstanding achievement. Former cricketer Irfan Pathan congratulated Chahal on his 200 IPL wickets, calling him a “legendary” player.

In the ongoing IPL 2024 season, Chahal has taken 13 wickets at an average of 17.15 and an economy rate of 8.25, putting him on par with Mumbai Indians’ Jasprit Bumrah, who has also claimed 13 wickets so far. With a total of 200 wickets in 153 games, Chahal boasts an average of 21.39 and an economy rate of 7.69, including one five-wicket haul and six four-wicket hauls.

When asked about his future in the Indian team, Chahal expressed his focus on enjoying his current performance rather than worrying about selection. He emphasized that while playing for the country is an honor, he is prepared to seize any opportunity that comes his way without dwelling on it. Chahal’s dedication and passion for the game have solidified his status as a bowling maestro in the IPL.
