The United States cricket team pulled off a stunning five-wicket victory over Bangladesh in a Twenty20 international match in Houston, setting the stage for an exciting T20 World Cup next month. Despite being ranked 19th in the world T20 rankings, the Americans outperformed their higher-ranked opponents, who are placed ninth.

Bangladesh posted a total of 153 for 6, with Towhid Hridoy scoring 58 runs from 47 balls. Steven Taylor, the off-spinner for the USA, shined with the ball, taking two wickets for just nine runs from his three overs.

In response, the USA chased down the target with three balls to spare, thanks to a brilliant partnership between Corey Anderson and Harmeet Singh. Anderson, a former New Zealand international, scored 34 runs off 25 balls, while Singh, a former Indian Under-19 player, smashed 33 runs off just 13 deliveries.

The game came down to the wire, with Anderson hitting a crucial six off the penultimate ball of the 19th over, leaving nine runs needed from the final over. Anderson then sealed the victory with another six, followed by a boundary from Singh.

“It’s a great feeling,” said Singh after the match. “Corey brings a lot of experience and knows how to finish games. We all look up to him.”

The second game of the series is set to take place on Thursday in Houston, promising more thrilling cricket action for fans.
