CSK CEO Introduces a New Development in MS Dhoni Retirement Speculation, Expresses Expectations of…

Chennai Super Kings fans may have to brace themselves for the possibility that former captain MS Dhoni might have played his last game for the franchise. Despite leading CSK to a record five Indian Premier League titles, Dhoni stepped down as captain before the start of the ongoing season, with Ruturaj Gaikwad taking over the reins.

Speculations have been swirling that this could be Dhoni’s final season in the tournament, but CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan remains optimistic about the legendary cricketer’s future. Viswanathan expressed his hope that Dhoni would participate in IPL 2025 as a player, but ultimately emphasized that the decision lies solely with Dhoni himself.

In a recent interview on CSK’s YouTube channel, Viswanathan stated, “It is a question which only MS can answer. The question for us, we have always respected the decisions taken by MS. We have left it to him.” He added, “But we are very, very hopeful that he will be available for CSK next year. That is the view and expectations of the fans and mine.”

Dhoni, who underwent knee surgery last year, had a decent performance this season, scoring 161 runs in 73 balls at a strike rate of 220.55. With a mega IPL auction on the horizon, the retention of players remains a topic of discussion. Viswanathan mentioned that discussions with the BCCI are yet to take place regarding the retention policy for the upcoming cycle of the auction.

As fans eagerly await Dhoni’s decision, the cricketing world holds its breath to see if the iconic captain will don the yellow jersey for Chennai Super Kings once again.
