Cuyahoga County Introduces New Office Dedicated to Small Businesses

Cuyahoga County Executive Chris Ronayne has announced the establishment of the Cuyahoga County Office of Small Business, a new initiative aimed at supporting and empowering small business owners in the region. The office, housed within the Department of Development, will provide personalized assistance and guidance to help small businesses navigate the business landscape and access the resources they need to thrive.

With over 30,000 small businesses in Cuyahoga County employing close to 300,000 residents, the Office of Small Business is poised to make a significant impact on the local economy. County Executive Ronayne emphasized the importance of small businesses in driving workforce growth and economic sustainability, stating that the new office will make it easier for entrepreneurs to access resources and strengthen their networks.

The Office of Small Business will serve as a one-stop shop for business owners, offering support in areas such as networking, workforce development, financial opportunities, educational services, and peer support resources. By fostering connections and collaborations between businesses and key stakeholders in the county, including chambers of commerce and industry leaders, the office aims to attract more entrepreneurs to the area and tap into the abundant opportunities available in Cuyahoga County.

Deputy Director for Economic Development Vaughn Johnson highlighted the critical need for resources dedicated to supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs, noting that the new office will proactively address strategies for enhancing the experience of owning a small business in Cuyahoga County. Through partnerships with key organizations, the office will connect new businesses to capital opportunities, procurement services, and contracting opportunities, further bolstering the growth and success of small businesses in the region.
