President Petr Pavel highlighted the EU’s foundation of mutual respect and shared interests, emphasizing the significance of EU and NATO membership for freedom, prosperity, and security.
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier underscored the collective response of European states to threats against the union, affirming Ukraine’s integral part in Europe. He emphasized the importance of standing together and not allowing division to weaken the continent.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in a heartfelt video message, expressed his aspiration for Ukraine to join the European family, following the footsteps of Czechia. Ukraine’s recent application for EU membership and the ongoing accession negotiations were also discussed during the event.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen commended the Czech military industry for its crucial support to Ukraine in the face of Russia’s aggression.
