Cradle of Filth Announces Australian Invasion Tour with Infected Rain
It’s been five long years since Suffolk extreme metal band Cradle Of Filth toured in Australia, but fans can rejoice as they are set to make their return this September. The band will be playing five shows across the country with Moldovan metal band Infected Rain, led by the incomparable Lena Scissorhands, in tow.
The Australian Invasion tour kicks off on Tuesday, 24 September, at Metropolis Fremantle before heading to The Gov in Adelaide on Wednesday, 25 September, Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on Friday, 27 September, The Metro in Sydney on Saturday, 28 September, and wrapping up at The Triffid in Brisbane on Sunday, 29 September.
Cradle Of Filth has been busy since their last visit to Australia, releasing the LP “Existence Is Futile” in 2021 and a live album titled “Trouble And Their Double Lives” last year. Their previous Australian tour in 2019 featured the performance of their seminal 1998 album “Cruelty And The Beast” in its entirety.
In a recent interview, vocalist Dani Filth expressed his excitement about returning to Australia, citing the band’s good relationship with the country and the fantastic time they always have there. He also mentioned that they have a new album in the works, set to be released next year.
Filth also discussed the band’s recent lineup changes, including the departure of keyboardist and backing singer Annabelle Iratni and guitarist Richard Shaw. Despite the changes, Filth expressed confidence in the new members, Donny Burbage and Zoë Marie Federoff, and praised their contributions to the upcoming album.
One of the most anticipated aspects of the new album is a collaboration with pop music royalty Ed Sheeran, which Filth revealed will likely feature as a deluxe track on the album. He also hinted at a cover of Ultravox’s “The Voice” and shared his preference for covering non-metal songs in a metal style.
Despite facing challenges like COVID-19-induced delays and the impact of streaming services on artist royalties, Filth emphasized the band’s commitment to their music as a lifestyle choice. He offered advice to up-and-coming bands, stressing the importance of being fully committed and passionate about their craft.
Cradle Of Filth’s Australian Invasion tour promises to be a thrilling experience for fans of extreme metal, with special guests Infected Rain adding to the excitement. Tickets are available now for the tour, so be sure not to miss out on this epic event.
