The Five Forks area in Danville is experiencing a resurgence in business and development, with local entrepreneur Steve Barrow leading the way. Since relocating his computer-repair business to Five Forks from Franklin Turnpike, Barrow has seen a significant increase in customer volume, with a 40% to 50% surge in business.

Barrow’s Hammer Hill Computers is not only attracting customers from the neighborhood and other parts of Danville but also from across the North Carolina line. The area, which includes Pine Street, Jefferson Street, and Jefferson Avenue, is poised for further growth with the upcoming opening of Dog Daze Wood-Fired Oven, offering wood-fired pizza, salad, ice cream, gelato, beer, and liquor.

City officials and business owners see Five Forks as an up-and-coming part of the city, with plans for revitalization and development. The Danville Redevelopment and Housing Authority has received conceptual plans for a green space in the area, connecting Pine Street and Jefferson Avenue.

The historical significance of Five Forks is also being preserved, with buildings dating back to the 1920s being repurposed for modern businesses. Barrow believes the addition of the wood-fired pizza eatery will further enhance the area’s appeal, with hopes for more entertainment options like an arcade or trampoline park.

With the upcoming developments and revitalization efforts, Five Forks is poised to become a vibrant hub for businesses and residents alike, offering a mix of history, modern amenities, and community gathering spaces.
