Two Newmarket business leaders, Chris Cartwright and Bill Gianopoulos, have joined forces to create a unique opportunity for young entrepreneurs to showcase and sell their products. The inaugural youth market, set to take place at Market Brewing Company on Saturday, May 4, will provide a platform for young people with fledgling businesses to learn and grow.
Cartwright, a broker at Main Street Realty Ltd., initiated the idea to give young entrepreneurs a space to sell their handcrafted products and baked goods. He reached out to Gianopoulos, co-owner of Market Brewing, who immediately saw the value in supporting the next generation of business owners.
The event will feature about 15 vendors selling a variety of products, including custom buttons, key chains, crochet items, jewelry, and clothing. Food from Smash n Grab Burgers and live music by Sean Kelly will also be part of the marketplace experience.
Both Cartwright and Gianopoulos emphasize the importance of providing opportunities for youth to learn about business and entrepreneurship. They hope that the event will inspire young vendors to continue pursuing their passions and building their businesses.
Gianopoulos, reflecting on his own journey as a business owner, encourages young entrepreneurs to stay persistent and passionate about their work. He believes that success comes from dedication and hard work, rather than expecting overnight results.
The youth market event is set to be a fun and educational experience for both vendors and attendees, showcasing the creativity and talent of young entrepreneurs in the Newmarket community.
