Eurobodalla Council’s General Manager, Warwick Winn, is set to provide the community with an update on the council’s financial situation in a series of sessions starting in Narooma on Tuesday, April 9th. Accompanied by finance director Stephanie Speedy and Mayor Mathew Hatcher, Mr. Winn aims to shed light on the steps being taken to stabilize budgets and achieve financial sustainability.

Last year, the council publicly acknowledged a serious deficit in its general fund, and now, almost a year later, they are ready to share the strategy developed to address this issue. By reprioritizing work plans and utilizing grant funds to support existing projects, the council has already made progress in reducing the operating deficit.

Mayor Mathew Hatcher emphasized the council’s commitment to living within their means and leaving the organization in a better financial state. He encouraged residents to attend the sessions and learn firsthand about the council’s financial plans.

The sessions, which will include time for questions and discussion, will be held at various locations, starting with Narooma Library on April 9th, followed by Moruya Library on April 11th, and Batemans Bay Library on April 23rd. Light refreshments will be served, and no bookings are required – residents can simply show up to learn more about the council’s financial strategy.
