Reading Time: < 1 minute

Delhi Capitals (DC) pulled off a nail-biting victory against Gujarat Titans (GT) in a high-scoring thriller during the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The match saw DC posting a massive total of 224/4, thanks to captain Rishabh Pant’s unbeaten 88 off 43 balls and Axar Patel’s quickfire 66 off 43 balls.

Despite valiant efforts from GT’s B Sai Sudharsan (65) and David Miller (55), they fell short by just four runs in the end. Rashid Khan’s late cameo of 21 runs off 11 balls gave GT a glimmer of hope, but DC managed to hold their nerve in the final over to secure the win.

With this victory, DC climbed to the sixth position in the IPL points table, displacing GT to the seventh spot. This shift also pushed Mumbai Indians down to the eighth position in the standings.

The IPL 2024 points table now sees Rajasthan Royals leading with 12 points, followed by Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad in second and third place, respectively. Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings occupy the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.

All teams have played eight games each, except for Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The race for the playoffs is heating up, with teams vying for crucial points to secure a spot in the knockout stage of the tournament. Stay tuned for more thrilling encounters in the IPL 2024 season.
