Tesla (TSLA) has hit a roadblock with its Cybertruck deliveries, as reports suggest the company has halted them to address an issue with the accelerator pedal. Social media chatter has been buzzing with complaints from customers who have experienced delays or cancellations in their upcoming deliveries, with some citing problems with the accelerator pedal getting stuck.
Noted Tesla influencer @wholemarsblog took to Twitter to announce that Tesla has stopped all Cybertruck deliveries for 7 days due to the accelerator pedal issue. This comes after a relatively high number of initial Cybertrucks delivered have broken down and required service, sometimes after just a few miles.
In addition to the delivery woes, Tesla has informed Cybertruck production workers at the Austin factory that their shifts will be slightly shorter starting Monday. This move has sparked speculation about potential layoffs in the near future, as rumors swirl online.
Meanwhile, Tesla made a surprising move by slashing the subscription price of Supervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) to $99 a month from $199. This decision comes as the company faces challenges with production and delivery of its vehicles, including delays in ramping up production of the updated “Highland” Model 3.
Despite these setbacks, Tesla’s stock gained 3.7% for the week, buoyed by CEO Elon Musk’s promise of a robotaxi unveiling on Aug. 8. Investors will be closely watching how the company navigates these challenges and whether it can maintain its momentum in the electric vehicle market.
