Michael D. Ratner, the renowned director, producer, and content guru, has been named Storyteller of the Year by Project Healthy Minds. The honor will be bestowed upon him at the nonprofit’s fundraising gala at New York’s Spring Studios on October 10, coinciding with World Mental Health Day and the organization’s World Mental Health Day Festival.
Ratner, the founder and CEO of OBB Media, has gained recognition for his work as a music video director turned documentary storyteller, collaborating with top pop stars like Justin Bieber and Demi Lovato. Some of his notable projects include Kid Laroi’s “Kids Are Growing Up: A Story About a Kid Named Laroi,” Demi Lovato’s “Demi Lovato: Dancing With the Devil,” and Justin Bieber’s “Justin Bieber: Seasons.”
Demi Lovato will be present at the gala to present Ratner with the prestigious award. The duo is also working together on Lovato’s directorial debut, “Child Star,” a documentary that delves into the challenges of growing up in the spotlight, set to premiere on Hulu.
The gala, hosted by NBC personality Carson Daly, will also recognize KPMG for its leadership in supporting mental health initiatives. Last year, Project Healthy Minds welcomed notable figures like Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, hip hop star Logic, U.S. Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, and others at their event.
Ratner’s contributions to the world of storytelling and his dedication to raising awareness about mental health have earned him this well-deserved accolade. The gala promises to be a star-studded event celebrating Ratner’s achievements and the importance of mental health advocacy in the entertainment industry.
