Department of Justice Investigating Vince McMahon and WWE, Sex Trafficking Lawsuit Put on Hold

The ongoing lawsuit from a former WWE employee has taken a dramatic turn as the Department of Justice has launched its own investigation into WWE founder Vince McMahon, WWE, and ex-WWE head of talent relations John Laurinaitis. The lawsuit, which alleges sex trafficking and sexual assault, has been paused as the Department of Justice delves into the allegations.

In a sealed filing on Thursday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District Of New York presented information to the Federal court about the probe into McMahon, WWE, and Laurinaitis. This development has put a halt to the case brought forward by Janel Grant, the ex-WWE employee who made explosive claims against her former employers.

Grant’s attorney, Ann Callis, confirmed that Grant has agreed to pause her case in light of the Department of Justice’s investigation. The lawsuit filed by Grant in January detailed disturbing allegations of sexual assault, sex trafficking, and exploitation that she claims she endured while working for McMahon at WWE.

McMahon, who resigned as executive chairman of TKO Group Holdings after the lawsuit was made public, has denied all allegations of wrongdoing.
