Despite Israeli assault, UAE field hospital in Gaza’s Rafjson Rafah remains determined to continue operations

The conflict between Israel and Gaza has escalated, with the UAE field hospital in Gaza’s Rafah continuing to provide critical medical care despite the ongoing violence. The hospital, part of the UAE’s Gallant Knight 3 humanitarian operation, has remained operational in the face of the widening Israeli assault on the southern city.

Sultan Al Kabi, the director of the hospital, emphasized the hospital’s commitment to treating patients despite the challenges posed by the conflict. “The UAE field hospital continues to receive injured people and provide treatment to patients despite the current situation in Rafah city,” Mr. Al Kabi stated. The hospital is currently treating around 150 patients, showcasing its dedication to serving the community in need.

However, other medical facilities in the area are facing severe challenges due to Israel’s blockade of fuel, food, and aid from entering the region. The Kamal Adwan hospital director warned that his facility would be out of service within hours if not supplied with fuel, highlighting the urgent need for humanitarian assistance in the war-torn enclave.

In Rafah, Dr. Sohaib Al Hams, the director of Kuwaiti hospital, expressed concerns about the evacuation order issued by the Israeli army. He emphasized the critical role of the hospital in providing medical care to patients and appealed for the protection of medical professionals trapped inside the facility.

The Israeli assault on Rafah has raised alarm among international organizations and countries, with more than a million displaced Palestinians seeking shelter in the city. The UAE has condemned the invasion and seizure of the Rafah border crossing, warning against further military escalation that could result in more casualties.

Despite the challenging circumstances, the UAE field hospital continues to offer general surgery, orthopedic services, anesthetic care, and intensive care for children and adults. The hospital, supported by various UAE foundations and organizations, plays a crucial role in providing essential medical services to the community.

As the conflict rages on, the hospital remains a beacon of hope for those in need of medical assistance. The dedication of the medical staff and the support from the UAE demonstrate a commitment to saving lives and alleviating the suffering of those affected by the conflict.

The situation in Gaza remains dire, with thousands of Palestinians displaced and in need of urgent medical care. The ongoing violence underscores the importance of humanitarian aid and the critical role of medical facilities like the UAE field hospital in providing essential services to those in need.
