Wolfe It Down, a popular pizza spot that started as a backyard venture, has now upgraded to a food truck that is set to make waves in the Quad Cities area. Founded by married couple Betsy and Gina Wolfe in 2017, the idea for the food truck came from their love for watching “The Great Food Truck Race.”

The journey from backyard parties to a fully-equipped food truck with a pizza oven attached has been a dream come true for the Wolfes. Betsy Wolfe shared that the initial idea was to open a deli, but they opted for a food truck instead to make things less taxing.

Their pizza-making venture gained popularity when they installed a pizza oven in their outdoor kitchen at home in Princeton, Iowa. As demand for their delicious pizzas grew, they started catering at fundraiser events and backyard parties. The decision to retire early and pursue their food truck dream came about a year and a half ago.

With a specialty food trailer equipped with a pizza oven, Wolfe It Down is all set for its grand opening event at Adventurous Brewing in Bettendorf. The menu features creatively named dishes like the “She-Wolfe,” a veggie pizza. The Wolfes are already booked through November 2024, showcasing the success and demand for their unique pizza creations.
