The 10 Year Anniversary Sports Matter Grants mark a significant milestone in the efforts to support young athletes across the country. DICK’S Sporting Goods and The DICK’S Foundation have been instrumental in providing over $100 million in funding to help more than 2 million kids access sports equipment, registration fees, league costs, and playing fields through the Sports Matter Program since 2014.

Rick Jordan, Vice President of DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation, emphasized the transformative power of sports in shaping the futures of youth. The launch of the new grant initiative aims to extend the reach and impact of the program to even more communities nationwide.

To kick off the 10 Year Anniversary initiative, 20 grants of $10,000 each will be awarded to Pittsburgh and Boston-based organizations at their respective DICK’S House of Sport grand openings. Additional grants will be distributed to youth sports organizations throughout the year.

In 2024, The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation will collaborate with organizations like Every Kid Sports, Good Sports, LISC, and DonorsChoose to further support youth sports initiatives. The foundation’s commitment to youth sports and community-based initiatives has made a significant impact on under-resourced teams and athletes.
